Cabin 1974

One of my favorite pictures ever. Me, Wayne and Dale at the lake in 1974. Ok, so this  is really a test post for the blog as I am putting up a new theme to play with. I don’t know if I like this one more than the others.

Me and Wayne 1975

Not sure why the shirt says 77.  Here we are in Stanley Park in 1975.  This tree is now gone, the huge windstorms in Vancouver blew over this landmark tree two years ago.

Me and mommy 1971

My first summer ever on this planet! Awww, thanks mommy for taking me outside that fine day! Check out my sweet shirt, thats a vintage Road Runner patch on it!

Dad’s 1970 Mach 1 Mustang

There was a time when my dad had a muscle car, but that was before my time. I did the math, my mother was pregnant with me on their 1970 trip to California. They drove their 1970 Mach 1 all the way from the interior of British Columbia to Disneyland, pretty impressive for that day and age. I believe this picture is of the coastal highway, maybe route 66? I don’t know California that well, any help would be awesome.

Dad’s car had a 351 Cleveland and is a collectable these days. After he had me, he had to sell his car and buy more practical vehicles :(

Fishing 1976

Fishing at a lake in British Columbia in ’76 . My aunt and uncle had a neat cabin we loved to go to.

Grandma and Grandpa

This is such a cool picture for me, because its the only one I have of them together. My grandpa died when I was just 3, so I don’t really remember him. We just sold this house not long ago, it has been in the family since the late 40′s.

Kelowna 1976

My aunt and uncle used to live near the canal, and we could float on the tube behind their house. Now Kelowna is full of yuppies, traffic and multi-million dollar homes, its not the same.

Me on my 2nd birthday

Where were all my friends :(

Guess I never had a ton at that age yet :(

Athabasca 1972 Play Time

The kids decided to go into the boat alone.

Christmas 1973

Me and Wayne, Christmas 1973. I wouldn’t have remember what I got, but now that I look at my old images some of these items ring a bell.

Hanging Out In The Trailer

My grandmother and grandmother, lived in this really old, smelly trailer in Alberta. I remember as a young kid it always smelled like old plastic and smoke, with a hint of booze.

They never had much money, nor did the relatives, but they always were laughing. Those are my memories of my family. Lots of laughter, and very little money. Oh yes, lots of partying too.

My Aunts and Uncles

Partying seems to be the one common thread in all my family pictures.

Here we see my aunts and Uncles whipping back some Canadian Club, a carton of cigs and assorted booze. Cheers.
